Our Story
Connaissance Films is a New York and Luxembourg-based film production company dedicated to uncovering stories at the intersection of history, immigration, and identity. The name Connaissance—French for “knowledge”—reflects our mission: to bring untold perspectives to audiences worldwide, exploring how migration and cultural identity shape our past, present, and future.
Founder and Executive Producer Daniel Atz has lived in eight countries across three continents, giving him an unparalleled ability to bridge cultural contexts. With a background that blends Asian, European, and American perspectives, Daniel and his team seek to tell stories that reveal hidden narratives—challenging viewers to look beyond the obvious and see the world through new eyes.
At Connaissance Films, we believe in immersive storytelling that blends rigorous research, cinematic artistry, and cultural depth. Our films aren’t just about history—they explore the human experiences and identities behind migration, drawing connections between past and present.
Our work is multilingual and international, engaging with communities across Europe, the Americas, and beyond to document and honor stories that deserve global recognition.
